The Chillcoots Story

Chillcoots Construction was established in 1995 by Mark Bjerken. His partner, Don Skare, later joined him in 1997. Both partners have been residents of Grand County since 1986 when they moved here from Bemidji, Minnesota. Chillcoots began building custom homes in Grand County in 1997. Right from the start they took a different approach to home building. Their goal was to create beautifully handcrafted homes with unsurpassed quality and attention to detail. Instead of coming from a background in framing, most of Chillcoots’ staff comes from a background in cabinet making and interior trim. Mark has ten years experience in professional cabinetry and his work is displayed in custom homes located not only in Grand County but also in the towns of Aspen, Telluride, Vail, and Beaver Creek. This is the reason for their trademark attention to detail from the very start of a project all the way through to the end.

Chillcoots focuses on three
main priorities:

Number One is The Client.
We listen. We communicate. Our honest and straightforward approach to business leads to a very positive working relationship with our clients. Very often this relationship continues well past the end of construction.

Number Two is our High Standard of Quality.
Not only do we demand this from ourselves, but from every one of our subcontractors. This attention to detail is our hallmark and it starts day one with the excavation all the way to the day we hand the key to the homeowner.

Number Three is our Employees.
We take pride in our dedication to our employees. The people who make up Chillcoots have deep roots in our community and appreciate the stability our company provides. Chillcoots is committed to being a part of Grand County’s future. Chillcoots has an excellent reputation and is a growing, dynamic company. We believe this success is a direct result of our focus on these priorities.

Thank you for considering Chillcoots Construction for your new home.
